I know a few of you have been very curious about where I live in Denmark and what my room is like. The reason I have held off showing you is because prior to yesterday my room was rather bare. It was a VERY white room with little furniture and minimal lighting. For the most part my room has remained the same, but at least it has some color. We took a trip to the local IKEA yesterday and I got a new set of sheets and some little accessories.
This is a picture of Socialt Kollegium where I live on the first floor (thank goodness!).
This is my newly colorful room.
Now, my bathroom is still a bit of an issue. It is small, icky and old, but there is not much I can do to it. It is a toilet/shower combo so the shower nozzle is controlled by the sink. I really don't like it, but I can live with it for another 3 months.
This is me at my desk pretending to do work (as always).
And just as a little bonus I thought I would show you one of the methods I get around the city in. This is my preferred method of public transportation... the BUS! I ride the bus to class everyday and it is pretty convenient. I do a lot of walking here, but the bus is nice for greater distances.
Well, I think that is all for now. I will leave you with a new Danish phrase to learn...
" Jeg elske mig bekendte og slægt!"
I love my friends and family!

Outstanding! What a nice blog entry. Lots of photos of you and the realities of your life. I particularly like the bathroom. Please take a few more of those with a close-up of the sink/shower device. Now it would be nice to have a few photos of the school, classroom and maybe an interview with one of your new friends.
I have also had several friends at work ask if you have had any exposure to Denmark's reputation for relaxed moral standards and liberal laws.
love,
Dad
My dearest Kelly.
Inasmuch as you are so far away, and in a foreign country, I will refrain from giving you a hard time about referring to your "old" relatives. We may be old, but like fine wines, get better with age, as your father clearly pointed out in his last post. We truly do enjoy experiencing Denmark through your eyes, descriptions, history and language lessons!!! Jake is getting very good at reading Danish. By the way - school is awesome - they LOVE their teachers and all is well here. Unc Joey is going to Louisville tomorrow - for work :( We love you tons and tons! xo

wait....wait...taloolidad....this family blog would rather not know about "relaxed moral standards"....yikes! besides, my neice wouldn't know anything about that kinda stuff.....
Awesome Pics....IKEA One of Auntie Cate's favorite places!! It's funny we just got their new catalogue the other day. Looks like you have added your touch to make it a nice room, you probably wont be spending much time there anyway. How is the beer? Or have you just been drinking wine? Did you ever figure out the cheese mystery? Well I have to go do chores, Auntie Cate has me busy.
Talk to you soon

Dearest Kel,
I was just checking out your newest additions after all my "chores" were done. Your dear uncle is just catching on that they are part of his fatherly/husbandly duties. As one of my students today told me his dad went to Florida. Not because he was sick of the famiy but he had done so much for them that they let him take a break. Johnny is trying to earn his break I guess. Just kidding! I like the room. The bathroom is interesting. At least it is yours. Sounds as if you are having a great time.
Love,
Aunt Cate

Its me, Rach and I love your blogs. They're fantastic. I look forward to reading your blogs every day. They're soo great I can't wait to see your next blog, you're such a great writer. You always inspire me to write great pieces here and at school. And everyone is always commenting on them. I loved your 'IKEA Trip' blog it was so cool. I love your room too. It's great that you are on the first floor. Your bathroom is so cute it's great that you made your room so colorful. I want to see a full picture of your bed.

Hi Kelly!
I agree with taloolidad. Great blog entry. Wy don't you slip in some sports they play. And what's the scoop on their religion? What gods do they believe in?
Sincerely,
Jake.
Hi Kelly!
I'm here in Louisville, KY or as they pronounce it here Louville. Traveling in the US not abroad like you. Although most of the postings are from familiy members, I'd like to remind some that others may be reading these too. I too am enjoying your entries and pictures. What a great experience. Enjoy!

while i'm so glad about the color in your room, i'm so concerned about ikea's quest for world domination. you see, i recognize the bookshelf, standing lamp and chair from my apartment in boston. maybe they help people to feel comfortable no matter where they are in the world. you my dear seem to be comfortable anywhere! i'm so glad you seem to be having such a great time. keep up the good work. and the search for some more local color.
